The Govt Of India keeps on launching various schemes from time to time for its citizens so that they can be facilitated in daily life or in securing their future. While the Govt Of India is making every effort to make people aware of these schemes. But even then, the correct information about these schemes does not reach all the people .

The Govt. Of India has launched various schemes to facilitate every stage of life. Today we will know in detail about the schemes launched by the Govt. Of India. Which every citizen should know about.

1.PRADHAN MANTRI SURAKSHIT MATRITVA ABHIYAN(PMSMA):

PMSMA Yojana is a new initiative of central Government launched on June 9,2016. PMSMA aims to provide free , comprehensive and quality antenatal care to all pregnant women.

PMSMA scheme is based on the  premises that if every pregnant woman in INDIA is examined by a doctor and is properly examined at least once during PMSMA and then prescribed process is followed then in our country may reduce the number of maternal and neonatal deaths.

Let us first know this scheme, what was the purpose of starting this scheme of the Government , Due to which this scheme had to be started.

Main Objective Of The Scheme:

The Objective of this health scheme(PMSMA) is to reduce infant and maternal mortality.

With the help of this scheme, disabled women can fulfilled their health related needs. Efforts are being made to provide benefits to pregnant women under this scheme. Pregnant women need medical advice to give birth to a healthy baby, But this is not possible to every woman due to financial constraints. Therefore the Government is providing medical facilities to such women during pregnancy.

Key-points:

• • This program is for all the pregnant women who are in second and third trimesters of pregnancy .
  • Under this scheme, pregnant women can get free check-up till delivery on 9th of every month in all Government Hospitals and Health Centres near their home.
  • Along with this, Arrangements have been made for free treatments in this scheme even if there is a problem in delivery.
  • An important part of this campaign is identification and monitoring of comprehensive and quality ANC and high risk pregnancies.
  • Identifying high-risk pregnancies is an important step towards protecting mothers and babies from death during/due to delivery.
  • Using the principles of the single window system, All pregnant women attending PMSMA clinic should receive a minimal package of tests (including and ultrasound during the second trimester of pregnancy) and medications such as IFA supplements, calcium supplements etc.
  • Under this High-risk pregnant women will be identified and given a “Red Sticker” and woman with normal pregnancy will be given a “Green Sticker” and will be provided follow up facilities as needed.

Under this scheme any pregnant woman can take advantage of this scheme and gets free check-up and test done . If you also want to take advantage of this scheme then you do not need to do much. Just you have to follow the steps given below..

1. First of all, you have to get registered in a government hospital or any other approved health facility.
2. “Mother and child protection card”  and safe Motherhood Booklet is given to pregnant women.
3. You can show this card visiting the hospital on 9th of every month and get free check-up and test done.

2.Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY):

First of all let us know what is the meaning of this scheme?

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) : It can be guessed from its name itself.

Matru means Mother

Vandana means Prayer 

Basically this is a Maternity Benefits program under which maternity benefits are given to pregnant ladies and lactating mothers through incentives.

The main objective of this scheme is that the working woman should not go to work during pregnancy, they should rest at home . So let’s start the article without any delay.

PMMVY scheme was launched on January 1, 2017 by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narender Modi, under which financial assistance is provided to women who conceive  for the first time. This Scheme is implemented by the  “Ministry Of Women And Child Development”.

Pregnant Women of all income group have been made eligible in this scheme.

The Main Objectives:

The main objective of this scheme is that the woman should not go to work during pregnancy, they should rest at home . Cash benefit provided to pregnant women and lactating mothers directly into  their bank account or post office account.:

• • To promote their care, practice of woman during pregnancy, child birth and lactation.
  • To Meet the increased nutritional needs.
  • To provide Partial compensation for wage loss in the form of cash incentives so that the woman can take adequate rest before and after the birth of the first surviving child.

Target Beneficiaries :

Included

• • All pregnant women and lactating mothers who have a pregnancy on after January 1, 2017 for the first child in the family.

Excluded

• • Those women who are Employees of Central Government , State Government or any other PSU unit cannot apply in this scheme.

The reason for this is that all those women being employees of the Government Department are given maternity benefits separately by Government.

• • Those Women who are getting  similar benefits under any other scheme are not eligible to take benefit of this scheme.

Cash Benefits:

Under this scheme, Eligible women are given cash incentive of Rs 5000/-, which is given in three installments .

• • 1st Installment : Rs 1000/-

Rs 1000/- cash incentive is given for early registration of pregnancy at Anganwadi Center or any other approved health facility near you.

• • 2nd Installment: Rs 2000/-

A cash incentive of 2000/- is given to the women after 6th months of pregnancy. A condition has been laid for this, It is necessary to get an ante natal checkup done at least once.

• • 3rd Installment: Rs 2000/-

After registering the birth of the child, A cash incentive of Rs 2000/- is given to the mother.

Condition: For this also a condition has been laid that it is necessary for the child to get vaccinations like OPV, DPT, Hepatitis-B.
